Of all the things I've tried to shrink the pores on my oily nose... I never thought oil would be it. I read claims about shea butter having antibacterial properties, similar to coconut oil and that some people had amazing results using it on acne. I thought what the heck, I'll try it. I washed my face before bed, applied a thin layer on my nose and a couple bumps that look like they were trying to become pimples and then put on my usual night creme. WOW! The next morning, all little bumps were completely gone, and my pores were significantly cleaner. I understand you can never really shrink pores but you can make them appear smaller by keeping them clean (which you can't really do just by washing alone). This stuff has about a billion and a half uses, and clearing up my sometimes problematic skin is one of them. I LOVE IT!!!

I purchased the 100% Organic Shea Butter (150mL) directly at a local L'Occitane store in February 2010. The tub is marked with an expiration code of 2011/11. Last month I tried to use it but the cream is rancid; it has a disagreeable and repugnant odor of decomposing or stale oil or fat. Basically it smells like old shortening. After contacting L'Occitane customer service, I was told that the product should be used within 6 months of being opened and not by the expiration date listed on the tub. No instructions about the usage expectations are provided or were communicated by the store personal when I made the purchase. This is an expensive product to only last 6 months. If I would have known I would have purchase the smaller size container. Most L'Occitane products are good, but the 100% Organic Shea Butter (150mL) and their customer service leave much to be desired.

I used this product at length for a period of time about two years ago and it was very effective. However, they must of "altered" the formula. I was dissappointed with this product. As a matter of fact I purchased 100% unrefined Shea butter at Beauty World for $10.00 for 15 ounces and it ran circles around this product. I have eczema on both of my legs and L'occitane irritated the eczema when I applied it and provided no moisturization. Also, this product had a very unpleasant smell. Also for anyone suffering from eczema drink three cups of oolong tea daily and it may help relieve the horrific itching that is associated with the skin condition. DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY ON L'OCCITANE SHEA BUTTER!
